Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' has been named the Greatest Album Ever

The pop superstar's landmark 1982 LP - which is the world's best-selling album - dominated a poll of MTV viewers, securing almost a third of the total vote.

Speaking about 'Thriller' - which was produced by Quincy Jones and features some of Jackson's best known hits, including 'Billie Jean', 'Beat It' and 'The Girl Is Mine' - MTV Base presenter Trevor Nelson said: "I don't think there'll ever be another album like it in the history of music.

"There will never be a marriage of producer and artist, or songwriting and pop sensibility like that again. Due to the way people buy records now, there'll never be an album that sells as many copies."

The list was compiled by music industry experts, artists, and bosses from the network's three UK channels - MTV2, VH1 and MTV Base.

More than 40,000 votes were cast by fans asked to choose their favourite album since 1981 from a shortlist of 26 LPs.

In a shock result, British R'n'B artist Craig David's debut effort 'Born To Do It' finished second with 12 per cent of the vote, beating Guns N' Roses' 1987 album 'Appetite For Destruction' into third place.

Craig, who received more votes than some of the world's biggest rap and R'n'B stars including Jay-Z and Kanye West, was overwhelmed by the result.

The '7 Days' singer said: "I am very grateful to the viewers of MTV who have voted 'Born To Do It' as the second best album of all time - not only am I incredibly proud, it is an amazing achievement especially when I look at all the other albums in the top 100!"

British alternative rock band Radiohead secured fourth place with 'OK Computer', while the late Kurt Cobain's band Nirvana rounded off the top five with 'Nevermind'.

Oasis had two albums in the top ten - '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' came sixth, while their 1994 debut 'Definitely Maybe' was seventh.

Following Noel and Liam Gallagher's records are U2's 'The Joshua Tree', the Arctic Monkeys' debut 'Whatever People say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black'.

MTV's 'Greatest Album Ever: The Results' will be broadcast on MTV1, MTV2, MTV Base and VH1 on April 11 at 9pm.

Jennifer Love Hewitt's man fancies Keith Urban

Jennifer Love Hewitt's boyfriend has a crush on Keith Urban.

The 'Ghost Whisperer' actress has revealed her co-star lover Jamie Kennedy is a huge admirer of the country music star, whose wife is Nicole Kidman.

Jennifer said: "We do everything the same. We're very compatible in that way.

"He has a total man crush on Keith Urban! We were at the Academy of Country Music Awards and he's like, 'That guy's kind of hot,' and I'm like, 'I know!' "

Jennifer, who split from fiance Ross McCall in January, has known Jamie for years but recently realised she felt something more for him than just friendship.

She said: "We just make each other laugh and we're best friends. Even though we haven't been together for very long we are very much alike.

"The fact he is so hilarious is what makes this relationship work. When you're really funny, there's nothing really bad that can happen. He is a realist and I am a dreamer."

Jamie was attracted to 30-year-old Jennifer's sense of humour and admires her infinite kindness.

The 38-year-old actor gushed to People magazine: "We've known each other for a very long time and there's just something there. We've always had this mutual admiration society.

"She is the most generous and thoughtful person you'll ever meet. She's amazingly talented and people don't realise that she's incredibly funny too. She's a great person to be with."

Dinosaur Jr. new album

The worry about the reunion of the original Dinosaur Jr. line-up, more than 20 years after their formation and legendary dissolution, was that these guys were just flogging the back catalogue as a marketing gimmick.

With the release of 'Beyond', in 2007, the band gave a hearty Marshall-driven V sign answer to those inquiring ears. Restoring the sound established by the opening hat-trick gambit of 'Dinosaur', 'You're Living All Over Me', and 'Bug', the 'Beyond' record continued the band's march into rock greatness by making old ears smile and new ears bleed afresh.

Now Dinosaur Jr are set to release 'Farm', the fifth full length record by the original line-up of J. Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph—which is set to be released on PIAS on June 22nd 2009.

If 'Beyond' was Dinosaur Jr's return to form, 'Farm' is proof that this band continues to deliver rock worth cranking to 11. At times wholly 70's guitar-epic, at other times perfect for sitting by a babbling brook with Joni and Neil, 'Farm' encompasses Dinosaur Jr.'s signature palette - soaring and distorted guitar, unshakable hooks, honey-rich melodies, with songs that get into your head and, bouncing around happily, stay there.

The ear-catching "Plans" is nearly 7 minutes of classic whipped-topping rock dessert, whilst "I Don't Wanna Go There" is a meat-and-potatoes main dish, mixing unapologetic lead guitar with straight-ahead delivery a la James Gang or Humble Pie. These two tunes round out twelve tracks propelled by the unique energy of one of America's greatest living rock bands hitting their stride.

'Farm' was recorded in J Mascis' Bisquiteen studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, and was produced by Mascis.
